Cycling on the Ashdown Forest

Cycling is a lovely way to see and enjoy the beautiful Ashdown Forest!

#Countrybike have installed some ‘Boris type’ bikes around the Forest for hire by the hour. They are available at The #Anchor in Hartfield – which is not only a great pub but also very close to the Forest Way – a cycle track which connects to Forest Row, East Grinstead and Crawley. The bikes are also available at #TablehurstFarm in Forest Row which is also on the lovely cycle track. Drop in on Friday lunch time for a freshly made pizza or join the BBQ on a Saturday lunchtime. www.anchorhartfield.com. www.tablehurst.farm

The Countrybikes have also just been installed along the Cuckoo Trail and can be hired at Heathfield, Horam and Pevensey. www.countrybike.co.uk

#OnYourBike in East Grinstead is a lovely shop with a great range of bikes, accessories, maintenance crew and also some expert advice. They also offer a bike hire service when booked in advance. Once a month they organise a Shop Run which is a group bike ride which starts from the shop. this is a lovely way to meet other cyclists and find your way around the Forest. www.onyourbike.com

if you are a cyclist and would like to improve your cycling then contact Paul Winkley at MerlinCycleCoaching for some expert advise and support. www.merlincyclecoaching.co.uk

Enjoy your cycling around the Forest. However please remember that cycling on the Forest itself is not allowed. There please keep to bridleways, cycle tracks and the roads in the area.
