Designed by Philip Webb in the 1890s for wealthy solicitor, James Beale, and his family, National Trust’s Standen is a family home with nationally important Arts & Crafts interiors, most famous for its Morris & Co. designs. The 12 acre hillside garden has been recently restored to uncover lost features and conserve the historic plant collection.

A licensed café serves seasonal dishes and Arts & Crafts inspired gifts are available in the shop. Stay inside the original family rooms in the house in a cosy self-catering apartment decorated in the Morris & Co. style.

Our garden, wider estate, shop and Barn Café are open daily from 10.00am (except 24th & 25th Dec). House opening times vary throughout the year. Check website for times and prices.  Please call regarding specific accessibility requirements on Tel : 01342 323029
