This historic Jacobean building was created for Richard Sackville, Earl of Dorset in 1609, as an almshouse and accommodation for the Sackville family. See the chapel quadrangle, banqueting hall, minstrels’ gallery and the Warden’s study where the carol Good King Wenceslas was composed.
Guided tours take place between Mid June and Mid September – from 2pm to 5pm (last admission 4:15).
Private tours can be arranged throughout the year. Please book in advance.
Teas can also be arranged by prior appointment for group bookings.
