Gravetye Manor is a 4 red star hotel and 1 Michelin Star restaurant nestled in the West Sussex countryside, just 30 minutes from Gatwick Airport and close to London, Brighton and the M23. It is a quintessential English manor house, dating back to 1598, which still maintains exceptional levels of service and warmth at its very heart. Surrounded by 1,000 acres of forestry commission land and set within 35 acres of formal gardens, Gravetye Manor is a country house hotel in the truest sense. Once home to the pioneering Victorian gardener, William Robinson, its formal Flower Garden still replicates his revolutionary ideas about naturalised planting, allowing nature to flow through the garden, which was in stark contrast to the rigid planting styles that were common in Victorian England. Robinson’s original 1.5 acre walled Kitchen Garden still stands and services the kitchen with up to 95% of its fresh produce in the Summer months. Gravetye’s Michelin Star menus, created by Head Chef George Blogg, are entirely seasonal, with the Kitchen Garden and local produce being the driving force behind their design. A new, glass fronted restaurant will allow uninterrupted views over the Flower Garden while diners sample food grown just metres from their seats.
