35th STOPOVER OF THE WORLD WINE TOUR
” A ROMP AROUND RIOJA”,
Hosted by the doyenne of The Iberian Peninsular, the very fragrant Harriet Kininmonth, head wine buyer, fellow bon-viveur and “Wine Guru” of Enotria & Coe. We are about to embark on our 35th “Flight” of The Griffin World Wine Tour and we are heading directly to two top producers in Rioja Alta , Ramon Bilbao and Sierra Cantabria, universally acknowledged to be at the forefront of both modern and traditional wine making in this most historic and beautiful corner of the Rioja region.
One only has to glance at the pic above of gratuitous Bacchanalian debauchery at a recent “Rioja Joven ” festival in Logrono to realise that we have an awful lot in common with these young Riojans….
Any of you that have found yourselves around the bar after any of our recent wine events (not least the triumphant Burgundy evening) will be familiar with similar scenes.
