The gardens at Gravetye Manor can be considered amongst the most influential in English gardening history. The manor became the home of the innovative and revolutionary gardener, William Robinson, in 1884. Robinson spent his remarkable life as a professional gardener and botanist, but made his fortune through writing about his experiences and ideas on horticulture. Thanks to the backing of new owners, a major restoration was started in 2010. Overseeing the project has been head gardener, Tom Coward. Find out more about his treatment of William Robinson’s landscapes and the ultimate success of one of the country’s most beautiful and productive hotel gardens.
Arrival from 10.30am, with the lecture starting at 11.00am and followed by lunch at 12.00 noon.
£78.00 per person, including tea/coffee on arrival, the lecture and 3 course lunch with drinks.
