What is the Ashdown Forest Tourism Association?

AFTA is a business group of around a 100 tourism associated businesses based on or near the Ashdown Forest.

The group was started in 2004 and consists of a wide range of organisations which are listed under the categories of :

  • Places to Stay – such as Bed and Breakfasts and Camp sites up to 5 Star Hotels
  • Places to Eat – such as pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and wine bars
  • Places to Visit – such as farm shops, animal parks and craft centres
  • Kids Activities - such as Winnie the Pooh
  • Local Shopping – such as antique and gift shops, farm shops and craft shops
  • Business Services – such as Printers and Map Makers
  • Conference Facilities

What are the aims of the group?

  • to build a strong business support network across the Ashdown Forest area
  • to promote and develop sustainable tourism on the Forest
  • to ensure that a business voice is included in local decision making.
